Five ways to get in bikini-body shape, fast!

Sweat

We all wish that our bikini body would just appear around summer time, sadly it just doesn’t happen. You’re going to have to start working out. Commit to a strength program, don’t be afraid to lift weights and getting your sweat on. It will not only tone your body up but increase your metabolism. Increasing your metabolism will allow your body to continue to burn fat when you’re not working out. Tip: We recommend working out earlier in the day, this helps kick start your metabolism for the rest of the day

Work your Bum and Belly

Your glutes are your biggest muscle on your body, working them is going to burn more calories and it helps tone your bum so you won’t be walking around with a saggy bikini-bottom. Tip: Squat using your own bodyweight. Everybody dreams of a flat stomach, it’s what makes your body look good in a bikini. Don’t forget to work it. Try ‘planking’ for 30-45 seconds 3 times a day, it will increase your overall core strength as well toning your tummy. Tip: Watch James Duigan’s 5 Step Workout to tone your body.

Drink water

We are all aware of the importance of water in our diet, however most of us neglect it! You should be drinking close to 3 litres of water a day, it helps flush out all the bad toxins and will aid you in your workouts. Tip: Add some ice, it’s not only refreshingly cool but studies have proven that your body burns more calories drinking cold water. Its fat burning fuel!

Reduce the carbs

Cut back on starchy carbohydrates, but don’t cut out all carbs! They keep your brain functioning and you’ll need them when you’re working out. Simply replace white rice with brown rice, it tastes better anyways! Reducing the amount of carbs doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself either, fill the empty spot on your plate with fresh vegetables and protein. Both are easy to digest. Tip: Don’t eat after 8pm, this will give your body time to digest and restart for the next day.

Reduced your alcohol intake

While we’ve all heard by now that a glass of wine is good for us, alcohol will slow down the progress you’re making in the gym. Tip: We all get the munchies after consuming alcohol, when you are thinking about consuming that giant sandwich switch it up for a glass of water.

Bonus Tip:

Sprinkle your coffee/tea with cinnamon, cinnamon has been proven to speed up your metabolism and will increase the amount of fat you burn.
